The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 34%. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -42.7% against 2019 indices. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% over the last decade. In 2022, shipments abroad of grapefruits was finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. Over the period under review, the harvested area dedicated to grapefruit production attained the peak figure at X ha in 2016 however, from 2017 to 2022, the harvested area failed to regain momentum. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the harvested area increased by 42% against the previous year. The harvested area increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the period from 2012 to 2022 however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. X ha of grapefruits were harvested in China with a decrease of -1.6% against 2021 figures. Despite the increased use of modern agricultural techniques and methods, future yield figures may still be impacted by adverse weather conditions. ![]() Over the period under review, the average grapefruit yield hit record highs at X tons per ha in 2014 however, from 2015 to 2022, the yield remained at a lower figure. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 11%. Over the period under review, the yield, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The average yield of grapefruits in China declined modestly to X tons per ha in 2022, approximately reflecting the previous year's figure. Grapefruit production peaked at $X in 2015 however, from 2016 to 2022, production failed to regain momentum. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the production volume increased by 29% against the previous year. The total output value increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the period from 2012 to 2022 however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. In value terms, grapefruit production stood at $X in 2022 estimated in export price.
