He was always there for a word of encouragement or a quiet ear to listen to their struggles. Kim's greatest joy was watching his children and grandchildren succeed in life and in sports. He made many good friends and looked forward to working with the football and softball crews he was on. Kim followed his passion and love of sports and continued on to become a PIAA official. He would also find himself coaching several of his sons sports teams throughout the year, volunteering his time and years of experience to the young players. He participated throughout his school years as well as later in life on several of the local slow pitch softball teams, Nilus, Airport Restaurant, KFC, and Kratzerville Fire Company to name a few. Kim was involved in sports his entire life. He also looked forward to his yearly fishing trip to Canada with his son and nephew. Kim enjoyed being in the outdoors and was an avid hunter and gardener. He was a PIAA official, officiating both football and softball games. Kim was a member of the Selinsgrove Athletic Council and active in the youth athletic programs. He was a 1970 graduate of Selinsgrove Area High School and a 40-year employee of Wood-Mode Inc. Kim married the former Nancy A Pekarski, who survives, on May 22, 1971. He also enjoyed swimming in his pond and sitting on the bank feeding and watching his koi fish.ĭrano retired from the Department of Transportation as a heavy equipment operator. Like his father, he enjoyed mowing lawn and took pride in his yard. He had a deep love of nature that was seen in the beautiful flowers and plants at his house. He amazed his children with his ability to name almost any plant or tree they came across. He loved snowmobiling with friends and never missed a chance to admire God's creation. He spent his final hour doing what he loved.ĭane was also a true outdoorsman and avid hunter. As his son Ben says, if you ask any farmer why they farm, they will say not for the money, but for the love of it. At the moment of his passing, he was planting pumpkin seeds for fall harvest. He farmed his father's land for many years and his exceptional hay was known all over Lancaster County. Drano was the proud grandfather of three wonderful grandsons: Lucas Khristian Snyder, Elias Michael Snyder and Benson Wilbert Snyder.ĭrano had a farmer's heart - having his hands in the soil and finding joy in watching things grow was in him from birth.
